In 1983, Philadelphia Orchestra violinist Robert dePasquale and his wife, Ellen Fisher, founded the Academy of Community Music to bring the benefits of shared musical experience to children and parents regardless of economic disadvantage and physical or cognitive disability.  Since that time the Academy has grown and thrived alongside the families and communities it serves.  Our Family Music Services and Community Music Services reach over 3,500 individuals each year, and our Crescendo outreach initiative has received numerous accolades on regional and national levels.
