At the Academy

Through Family Music Services, the Academy offers private instrumental lessons and music therapy, as well as group lessons and parent/child music classes.  Over the years, our Family Music Services have helped more than 4,000 children develop their musical skills, exposing them to a variety of musical instruments and styles, and enhancing their abilities as performers and lovers of music.  These experiences, offered at our location in Fort Washington and in studios throughout the region, cultivate an appreciation of music from an early age, and include exciting performance opportunities for our young musicians.

* Our Family Music Services program provides private music lessons in piano, violin, viola, cello, upright bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, guitar, harp and voice, as well as music therapy.

* Academy group lessons include Suzuki violin, Suzuki piano and chamber groups, as well as classes in music theory, hand bells, and the opportunity to join ‘The Entertainers’, our Broadway song and dance group.

* The Academy also offers a special Summer Session, from mid-June through mid-August.

* Our performance opportunities include ‘Grand Concert Weekends’ for all Academy students and their families, held twice every year, and such special events as Open Houses and concerts featuring noted professional musicians, most recently including André Watts, and Ellen and Robert dePasquale.
